Born and raised in Rhode Island, Frank J. DiMaio has lived a storied and eclectic life, full of twists and turns. He grew up in the restaurant business, working at his parents’ diner where the featured menu item was N.Y. system wieners, a Rhode Island staple. This engendered both a strong work ethic and a love of food, which is why all of Frank’s works have eating scenes. In addition to writing, DiMaio is a sculptor, painter and photographer.

The Best Ships is his first book with others in queue, including The Pearls, an adventure story set during the Opium Wars, Letters from the Trenches, The Continuing Adventures of Comma Boy, and Tales from the Couch. He is also developing a blog on the psychology of healing.
